What comes back
Paste a resume, press the button, and you get four things. A score out of ten, which the model calls a hireability score. A one line hook about how the whole thing reads. Two or three paragraphs that go after specific parts of your text, the vague buzzwords, the tired phrases, the formatting, the empty bullets. And a short quote you can copy to X, LinkedIn or Facebook if the result is funny enough to pass around.
The score is a number a language model picked, not a hiring decision, and it moves a little if you run the same resume twice. The paragraphs are the part worth reading, because the model is told to quote your own lines back instead of handing out the usual resume advice.
Spicy mode and soft mode
The switch under the text box sets the tone, and spicy is on when the page loads. In spicy mode the model plays a cynical recruiter who has read ten thousand bad resumes and scores you harshly. Soft mode swaps that for a career coach who still makes jokes but keeps the feedback constructive and the score fair.
Same resume, same weak lines found, different delivery. If you are applying tomorrow and just want the problems, use soft mode. Leave spicy on when you want to know how your resume reads to someone on their fortieth one that day.
Sign in first, and where your text goes
Two things to know before you paste anything in. You need an account. Press Roast My Resume without one and a login box opens, with Google or an email and password. The roast starts on its own once you are in, and your text is still there when the page comes back.
Your resume text also leaves your browser. It is posted to this site, which passes it to the model that writes the roast. Nothing is written to your account and there is no saved result page, so once you close the tab the roast is gone. The page does hold a short lived copy of your text while the Google sign in redirect happens, and clears it as soon as you land back. If a line in your resume is confidential, take it out before you paste.

The button stays off until you are past 50 characters. Three lines of a summary give the model nothing to work with, so paste the whole resume.
Common questions
Do I need an account to get my resume roasted?
Yes. Pressing the button without one opens a login box, with Google or an email and password, and the roast runs by itself once you are in. It is free, and the sign in is there because each roast calls a paid model.
Is my resume stored anywhere?
The text is sent to this site and on to the model that writes the roast. It is not saved to your account and there is no public result page. Close the tab and the roast is gone, so copy anything you want to keep.
How accurate is the score out of ten?
It is one model reading your text, and the same resume can come back a point higher or lower on a second run. Read it as a mood, not a verdict. The paragraphs underneath are the part you can act on.
Will this tell me if my resume passes an ATS?
No. The roast is about how your writing reads to a person. For keyword matching against a specific job posting, use the ATS resume scanner instead.
