Ready to Face the Truth?
Paste your LinkedIn profile and discover how cringe you really are. We promise to be brutally honest.
What comes back
You paste a profile, press the button, and the answer builds in the right column. It is one read of the whole thing, not a checklist with ticks next to it. The point is to hear how the profile sounds to someone who did not write it.
- A cringe score out of 100
- A headline for the roast, and the roast itself under it
- Red flags, listed one per card
- A spirit animal for the profile
- One fix to work on next
What to paste in
Copy your headline, your About section and the job titles with the bullet points under them, then drop the lot in the box. The more of the profile it sees, the less it has to guess at. A headline on its own gets you a roast of a headline.
There is a faster way. LinkedIn will save your own profile as a PDF, and you can drag that file onto the box instead of copying anything. PDF, DOCX, TXT and Markdown files are read in your browser and the text lands in the box for you to check. The button turns on once there are more than 30 characters in there.
You need an account, and the text goes to a server
Press Roast Me while signed out and a login window opens first. Sign in and the roast runs on the text you already pasted, so nothing has to be typed twice. There is no guest mode. The server checks your session again before it spends anything on a model, so a signed out request gets turned away there too.
This tool is not one of the ones that stay in your browser. Your profile text is posted to softery.io, passed on to the model that writes the roast, and the finished result is saved to your account so it can have a link. Paste accordingly.
The share link and the card
Every saved roast gets an address of its own under /tools/linkedin-roaster, and that page carries a preview image built from your score and your roast headline. Paste the link into LinkedIn, X or Slack and the card shows up instead of a bare URL. That image is generated once and stored, so the card is there the first time someone unfurls it.
The buttons under the result copy the score and headline as text, open the LinkedIn share box with your link in it, or start a post on X. If you want the score without the audience, skip the buttons. The result sits in your account either way.
Common questions
Do I have to sign in?
Yes. Pressing the button while signed out opens a login window before anything is sent, and the server checks the session again before it calls the model. Once you are in, the roast runs on the text you already pasted.
Does my profile text leave my browser?
Yes. It is posted to softery.io and passed on to the model that writes the roast, and the finished result is saved to your account so it can have a share link. Do not paste anything you would not want stored.
What is the cringe score?
A number out of 100 that the model puts on your profile, where higher means more cringe. It arrives with a roast headline, the roast, a list of red flags, a spirit animal and one fix.
Can I upload a file instead of copying text?
Yes. LinkedIn can save your profile as a PDF, and you can drop that file straight onto the box. PDF, DOCX, TXT and Markdown are read in your browser and the text is filled in for you.
Fixing the profile is one job, and the resume is another. The resume roaster does the same thing to a CV, and the ATS resume scanner checks that resume against the job description before you send it. The rest are on the free tools page.
